The piaçava, a vegetal
fiber extracted from the tropical palm tree "piaçaveiro" (Attalea funifera)
that grows in the state of Bahia, Brazil, has been used for many years by
the indians in their cookery (food and domestic utensils), as well as in
architecture, for the confection of their huts´roofs. |
